On Father's Day, Dave and Chris set out to play,
From oceanside to Mount Palomar, a trip underway.
With pinecones and pine leaves of native trees in sight,
Seneca, Payten, Sandy, and Paloma joined the joy ride delight.
Up to 6,142 feet, a treacherous climb we braved,
Heart pounding, adrenaline rushing, we almost caved.
But fear not, dear friends, despite almost dying, we made it through,
With memories to cherish, and stories anew.
Oh, what a fun-filled day with family by our sides,
Amidst breathtaking scenery, our spirits did ride.
At the mountain's peak, a telescope stood tall,
But alas, we arrived late, hearing the Park Ranger's shout "gate's last call".
