What started in October as a minor vanity repair quickly turned into a full-blown demolition and remodel. In a bathroom, everything is connected; disturbing one old fixture uncovered a domino effect of hidden needs behind the walls and under the floor. Ultimately, the project expanded far beyond the original plan: The Structure: Pulling up the old layers of tile(S), leveling the floor, doing extensive drywall repairs (patching up the existing walls rather than all-new sheets), updating insulation, and repairing the vent. The Peace of Mind: Doing a thorough mold check once the walls were open; thankfully, none was found. The Upgrades: New porcelain floor tiles, water valves, hoses, faucets, textured and painted walls, floorboards, lighting, and cabinets.
